Cheese elaborated with pasteurised whole milk from Frisona cows. It’s a cheese with a soft buttery taste, although intense and persistent. It has a soft and creamy consistency and a sweet and penetrating aroma. The taste is very distinctive, soft and nutlike. It’s elaborated in the townships of L’Alt Urgell and la Cerdanya, in the eastern Pyrenees. An excellent cheese to be enjoyed on its own. Very aromatic, cut in slices or cubes is the perfect mate for light dishes, from greens and salads to meats or white fish. We recommend eating Urgell with white wines, dry or fruity, or with Cava brut.
